When people become intentional about creating a difference and put that into action, only the best can come out of it. Hats off to Econet Wireless for taking the step towards supporting women economic empowerment. On 6 April 2023, a ceremony was held for the signing on of Econet Wireless as a Supplier Diversity and Inclusion Partner of Women Owned Business Trust. This will see more Women Owned Businesses being given a chance to be a part of the corporate supply chain.
In attendance were Hon Dr Jennifer N. Mhlanga the Deputy Minister of Women Affairs, Community and SME Development, Zimbabwe Gender Commission, UN Women, from Econet were the Chief Operations Officer Mr Kezito Makuni, Chief Supply Chain Officer Ms Sharon Marufu and various executives, and the amazing Women Entrepreneurs.
Women Owned Business Zimbabwe (WOBT) is committed to scaling up women enterprises through linkages with corporate and government supply chains to ensure more money goes into the hands of women business owners (WBOs). It works with Supplier Diversity and Inclusion (SDI) partners, that have committed to sourcing more products and services from women-owned businesses.
